About the role

BUILD SOMETHING MONUMENTAL FOR HEALTHCARE!

At Tandem Health we’re reimagining healthcare by putting clinicians first. Our platform - designed by clinicians, for clinicians - is built on deep insight into real-world pain points, with intuitive medical notes and workflows that truly support patient care.

We’re a fast-scaling health-tech company backed by top investors and expanding globally. We move fast, stay curious, and believe building something that matters starts with an extraordinary team. If you're passionate about impact and innovation, we'd love to meet you!

ABOUT THE ROLE

You’ve never been satisfied with just delivering the number. You start by understanding the decision a team is trying to make, then work backwards to the question and evidence they actually need. You earn your seat in the room by making decisions better and helping teams make the next one themselves, whether through a trusted metric, a clearer model, or a self-serve workflow.

As an Analytics Engineer at Tandem you'll own the data layer that the rest of the company runs on - the dbt models, the metrics, the semantic definitions and you'll sit close to the teams that use it. Product deciding what to build next. Clinical ops working out how we serve customers. Commercial and finance running the business. You'll work embedded with them rather than behind a request queue, and you'll be expected to have a point of view and argue it.

We are a small but growing data team. It is still early enough that everyone contributes across the full scope of the data team's work. As we grow, this role will likely specialise - likely toward either the product side or the commercial side - and we're open to which of those pulls at you.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Turn the questions people bring you into clear, trustworthy answers, delivered in the form and channel they will actually use. Work with stakeholders to see whether the answer was understood, acted on, and changed the decision it was meant to inform.
  • Build self-serve surfaces and documentation that help teams answer their own questions and act on what they find.
  • Own and evolve the data layer - dbt models, metrics, and semantic definitions - so that the answers built on it are trustworthy and easy to reach for.
  • Proactively surface what the data shows - patterns, risks, and opportunities nobody asked about.
  • Ensure data and metric quality through testing, monitoring, and clear ownership of the datasets you produce.
  • Bring the analytics perspective into data platform decisions: what data, tools, and capabilities we invest in next - and help build them.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Excellent SQL skills.
  • Experience in analytics engineering, data analytics, data engineering or a closely related field.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining a modeling layer in production - dbt or equivalent - including testing and documentation.
  • A genuinely business-minded approach: you understand what the teams you support are trying to achieve, and you push back when the question they asked isn't the question they need answered.
  • Strong communication skills - you can present to a room, explain a method to a non-technical stakeholder, and argue your point without winning by jargon.
  • A sense of ownership that extends past delivery: you care whether the work landed.

Bonus Points

  • Python for analysis, scripting, and lightweight tooling.
  • Experience working embedded with product, commercial, or finance teams.
  • Experience in healthtech, or in another regulated environment handling sensitive data.
  • Experience in early-stage startups or scaleups, where you've built things from close to zero.

We believe the best ideas happen when we're together. This role is based in our vibrant HQ in the heart of Stockholm where you will work primarily from our office to collaborate, connect, and build our culture.
