About the role

Original posting from Tusker via Lever

Turn complex business challenges into technology solutions clients trust—and our teams can deliver.

Tusker is seeking an Enterprise Architect to serve as the senior technical voice in our sales process. You will connect client needs, sales strategy, and delivery capabilities to design practical, profitable managed services solutions across infrastructure, cloud, networking, endpoints, identity, and security.

This is a consultative pre-sales role—not a quota-carrying sales position or a delivery architecture role. You will lead discovery, shape the solution, communicate its value to technical and executive stakeholders, guide it through procurement, and ensure a smooth handoff to delivery.

What You’ll Do

Design Solutions That Work

Lead discovery and current-state assessments across infrastructure, network, cloud, endpoint, identity, and security.

Design managed services solutions spanning NOC/SOC coverage, Microsoft 365 and Azure operations, endpoint and server management, networking, backup and disaster recovery, and security operations.

Right-size scope to align client risk tolerance with delivery economics.

Identify project work needed before or alongside a managed services engagement.

Own the Technical Sales Story

Partner with Account Executives from qualification through close and own the technical narrative.

Build compelling business cases using TCO, cost-to-serve, risk reduction, and outcome-focused messaging.

Lead executive presentations and whiteboard sessions, address objections, and set realistic expectations.

Support account growth through roadmaps, technology business reviews, and expansion opportunities.

Scope, Propose, and Transition

Own technical responses for RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, security questionnaires, and compliance requests.

Define scope, assumptions, exclusions, and service levels that support accurate pricing and clean SOWs.

Partner with practice leaders and finance to validate delivery feasibility and margin.

Lead the transition from sale to delivery with clear documentation of assumptions, dependencies, and expectations.

Share field insights, improve reusable solution content, and mentor emerging architects.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud, or security, including 3+ years in pre-sales, solution architecture, or consulting.

Direct managed services experience, including service catalogs, SLAs, per-user or per-device pricing, and cost-to-serve considerations.

Hands-on depth in most of the following: Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, virtualization, LAN/WAN/SD-WAN, firewalls, network security, endpoint management such as Intune, backup and disaster recovery, and EDR/MDR or SIEM platforms.

Ability to lead credible conversations with engineers, IT leaders, and executives.

Strong writing skills across proposals, architecture documents, and executive summaries.

Ability to travel regularly for in-person client engagement throughout the territory.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with an MSP, MSSP, VAR, or systems integrator.

Knowledge of AV, unified communications, or collaboration technologies.

Experience in manufacturing, healthcare, or insurance.

Exposure to CMMC, HIPAA, PCI DSS, or NIST CSF.

Relevant Microsoft, Cisco, Fortinet, CISSP, TOGAF, or similar certifications.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Your success will be reflected in managed services bookings, technical win rates, accurate and profitable scoping, high-quality proposal responses, and strong feedback from clients and account teams.

Ready to Shape What’s Next?

If you combine broad technical expertise with business judgment, executive presence, and a talent for turning complexity into clear outcomes, we’d like to hear from you. Apply today to help clients build more secure, resilient, and effective technology environments.

Compensation: from 115,000 annually
