Location: Bucharest, hybrid

The role and the team

As a People/HR Operations Specialist (all genders), you’ll keep the employee lifecycle running smoothly for our Romanian organization, from contracts and onboarding to offboarding, and make sure everything we do complies with Romanian labor law. This is a 1-year fixed-term contract based in Bucharest, with the possibility of a permanent role afterwards. You’ll work mostly remotely and join the team at our Bucharest office 1 to 2 days a week. You’ll also help move our HR operations toward an AI-native way of working, and get hands-on experience automating HR processes and workflows.

You’ll join a high-performing, cross-functional People team that supports 900+ colleagues around the world, working closely with managers and partners across functions. In your first six months, you’ll handle most HR cases on your own and help with projects that leave our workflows better than you found them. We look for people who keep growing, take real ownership, and lift the people around them.

What you’ll do

Manage employment contracts, employee data and documentation across the full employee lifecycle in Romania.

Run onboarding and offboarding for joining and departing colleagues, keeping every step accurate and on time.

Act as the first point of contact for employee questions and support managers on everyday HR topics.

Apply Romanian labor law and internal policies in your daily work, flagging compliance risks early.

Handle immigration cases, work permits and cross-functional escalations, bringing in senior colleagues on the most complex ones.

Spot gaps in current workflows, then document and improve them, using AI automation where it adds value.

Support our internal HR tools through testing and implementation projects.

What you bring

You have:

Hands-on experience running HR or People Operations processes in Romania, from contracts to offboarding.

Practical knowledge of the Romanian Labour Code and how to apply it to everyday HR cases.

A track record of seeing small to medium HR projects or process improvements through to measurable results.

Confidence handling both routine and less clearly defined cases with general direction, and knowing when to escalate.

Clear, friendly communication with employees and managers across functions, building trust through reliable delivery.

Curiosity about AI tools and a habit of using them in your daily work.

It’s a plus if you also have:

Exposure to international labor law, or to immigration and work permit processes.

Experience in an international company, ideally one with in-house software development.
