Who this role is best for

Aimed at senior professionals in corporate strategy or consulting with deep experience in managing long-term partner relationships, who are comfortable with technical complexity and ambiguity in the autonomous systems domain.

Best fit for

  • Candidates with a background in management consulting or investment banking who transitioned to operating roles and managed long-term partnerships.
    — “Approximately 7+ years of experience, starting in management consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategy, with meaningful time since then in an operating role
  • Individuals who have led commercial agreements and renewals in technology licensing environments, not just product sales.
    — “Experience owning partner relationships at a company that licenses technology rather than selling a finished product
  • Professionals who can act as a bridge between technical teams and commercial stakeholders, translating complex concepts effectively.
    — “Ability to learn technical concepts quickly and explain them clearly to a commercial audience, and the reverse

Things to consider

  • The position demands a high level of organization and cross-functional coordination.
    — “Organized enough that it is a differentiator. You know what was promised, by whom, and when it is due

How to stand out

  • Highlight long-term relationship management experience with specific counterparty names and outcomes.
    — “You have held a senior partner or customer relationship across multiple years, not a single transaction
  • Emphasize your ability to lead commercial negotiations and manage complex contracts.

  • Demonstrate your capability to prepare concise, high-level materials for internal and external stakeholders.
    — “Prepare clear, executive ready materials that communicate recommendations, tradeoffs, and deal rationale
  • Demonstrate your ability to resolve complex issues at the executive level without escalation.
    — “Serve as the first escalation point when a partner relationship goes sideways, and resolve it

Who We Are

Nuro believes self-driving vehicles are the most immediate and profound opportunity for AI to drive positive change in the physical world. Safer streets, more time for what matters, and easier access to the world around us, that’s why we’re building a universal autonomy platform: self-driving for all roads and all rides.

Founded in 2016, Nuro is a physical AI company developing Level 4 autonomous driving technology for a wide range of vehicles, use cases, and markets. Powered by the Nuro Driver™, our universal autonomy platform enables the global mobility ecosystem to deploy autonomy at scale, from robotaxis and logistics fleets to personal vehicles.

With years of real-world deployment experience and a flexible, partner-led business model, Nuro is working toward a future where millions of autonomous vehicles powered by our technology help make everyday life safer, easier, and more connected.

Nuro has raised over $2B in capital from Uber, NVIDIA, Google, Softbank, Fidelity, T. Rowe Price, and other leading investors.

About the Role

Nuro is looking for a senior partnerships and relationship management professional to own many of the key relationships that our technology depends on. Building the Nuro Driver requires a number of deep partnerships across cloud and compute providers, silicon, Tier 1 suppliers, and OEMs. Building the Nuro Driver requires a number of deep partnerships across cloud and compute providers, silicon, Tier 1 suppliers, and OEMs. This role builds and manages those relationships.

This is not traditional business development. We are not chasing a high volume of new logos, and we say no to more deals than we say yes to. The work involves holding a small set of critical relationships at the senior and executive level over years, keeping commercial agreements current, and making sure the internal follow through actually happens. You will work closely with our Founders and Executive Team, our existing partnership team focused on new commercial opportunities, and with our Supply Chain Team, which owns parts and schedules.

This is a senior-level individual contributor role. Success looks like partners who know exactly who to call at Nuro, agreements that get renewed on good terms before they become urgent, and problems that get resolved before they reach the co-CEOs.

About the Work

Own senior and executive level relationships with Nuro's existing cloud, compute, Tier 1, and OEM partners

Serve as the first escalation point when a partner relationship goes sideways, and resolve it

Lead commercial terms, renewals, and amendments on existing agreements, working with business development, legal, engineering and finance

Run the internal follow through: track what was committed on both sides, drive the cross functional work, and keep partners current on what is happening and when

Hold a clear view of where each relationship stands, what it is worth to Nuro, and where it should go over the next two to three years

Prepare clear, executive ready materials that communicate recommendations, tradeoffs, and deal rationale, for internal review and for partners

Partner with business development on new opportunities that come out of existing relationships

About You

Approximately 7+ years of experience, starting in management consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategy, with meaningful time since then in an operating role

You have held a senior partner or customer relationship across multiple years, not a single transaction. You can name the counterpart and say what changed because you were the person holding it.

Deal credibility. You have been in the room for commercial negotiations and can carry that conversation yourself.

Organized enough that it is a differentiator. You know what was promised, by whom, and when it is due, across a lot of moving parts, across multiple partners.

Ability to learn technical concepts quickly and explain them clearly to a commercial audience, and the reverse

Excellent written and verbal communication with senior audiences, internal and external

Comfortable with ambiguity and willing to take ownership to move work forward with speed and quality

Bonus Points

Experience in autonomous systems, automotive, semiconductors, or cloud infrastructure

Experience owning partner relationships at a company that licenses technology rather than selling a finished product

MBA from a top university, or a degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field
