About the role

Original posting from NOX METALS via Ashby

About Nox Metals. American factories deserve a supply chain that moves as fast as they do. Nox Metals is building it, along with the tools that run it. We’re a technology company in Metro Detroit supplying aluminum plate, bar, and rounds to aerospace and defense manufacturers. We use software and automation to supply metal to American factories faster than the industry thought possible.

The role. We’re hiring a Recruiter to keep our factories staffed. Nox is growing fast on the floor and in the office, and every empty seat slows us down.

Most of your day is on the phone. Nox is an AI-forward company, and you’ll use AI tools to work through a high volume of candidates 10x faster than the average recruiter. You also go find the people who aren’t applying, run short phone screens, and put the strongest candidates straight in front of their future manager. You’ll recruit for the floor and the office, and as Nox opens new plants, including one in Los Angeles, you’ll help staff each one.

If you’ve spent a few years in in-house recruiting, can get a clear read on someone in 15 minutes, and want to help build how a fast-growing company hires, this is your role.

Shift hours:

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some early or late hours to reach second shift and weekend candidates as needed.

You will:

  • Review inbound applications daily and identify the candidates worth calling
  • Use AI tools throughout your day to move faster on sourcing, outreach, scheduling, and candidate communication
  • Source candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, referrals, and our partner network
  • Run outbound: find people who aren’t looking and give them a reason to talk to us
  • Run quick phone screens and decide who moves forward
  • Move qualified candidates through each step of our hiring process, coordinating interviews with hiring managers and keeping every candidate informed so no good candidate sits waiting on us
  • Develop and maintain relationships with outside partners like colleges, trade schools, and city workforce programs that send us good people year after year
  • Write job postings the right people want to apply to, and keep them live and current
  • Keep candidate records clean in our ATS, and track which sources produce our best hires
  • Follow every People Ops SOP, and tell us when one is broken so we can fix it
  • Handle confidential information with discretion, every time

You are:

  • 3 to 5 years in in-house recruiting, with high-volume phone screening and real outbound experience
  • Already using AI tools in your daily work, and looking for ways to use them more
  • Fast and decisive on the phone: you get a clear read quickly and can explain exactly why you said yes or no
  • A clear, direct communicator with candidates from the shop floor to the front office
  • Organized and fast: you can juggle dozens of candidates across many reqs and never lose one
  • Willing to flag it to a hiring manager when a candidate or a req doesn’t add up
  • Never says “that’s not my job”

Nice to have:

  • High-volume hourly hiring in manufacturing, skilled trades, warehousing, or logistics
  • Experience recruiting for hard tech, defense, or ITAR environments
  • Experience with Ashby and LinkedIn Recruiter
  • Experience building or improving a hiring process at a growing company

Pay and benefits:

  • $60,000 to $75,000 salary, based on experience
  • Equity in Nox Metals
  • Company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance
