ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a supervisor on the facilities operations team, you will help design, build, activate, and maintain some of the world’s most technically advanced facilities. You will be able to operate with autonomy to solve diverse and complex problems, excel at managing multiple projects at a time, and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The Facilities Supervisor is an important role and directly impacts the foundation of the Southaven and Memphis sites. This position will help ensure that we keep facility maintenance costs low, keep vendors competitive and efficient, and find better ways to enhance our image with customers, visitors, and VIPs. Our facility care is a direct reflection of our values, and the impact is immense.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead a team responsible for performing inspections, testing, maintenance, and repair of campus-wide systems; including mechanical/HVAC, electrical, compressed air, dust collectors, plumbing tasks (backflow preventers/etc), as well as other preventative maintenance and repair programs covered by facilities operations

Lead and direct a team of plumbing, compressed air, electrical, and HVAC-focused facility technicians

Schedule daily work and prioritize assignments

Develop, plan and execute site improvement projects in accordance with overall business objectives and strategy

Know and understand all safety procedures of SpaceXAI in order to observe the work of contractors and bring safety concerns to their attention as needed. Report all unsafe acts and conditions which remain uncorrected to supervisor. Allow no work to be performed when conditions are considered unsafe

Maintain appropriate records for all trades as required

Know and understand mechanical equipment such as: chilled water systems, boilers, VFDs, pumps, PLC’s, condensers, split systems, air compressors, dust collectors and other mechanical equipment

Communicate with Manager on daily activities, projects, team moral and concerning issues

Manage vendor/contractor finances. Work with SpaceXAI buyers and accounts payable to assure accounts are maintained

Oversee team of techs, driving overall performance and effectiveness through individual coaching and development

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalency certificate 

3+ years of experience with facilities management

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering or equivalent

Knowledge of building management and automated facilities monitoring systems and processes such as: HVAC systems, fluid plumbing systems, generators, compressed air systems or fuel storage systems

Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint

Experience managing budgets and third-party vendors

Experience negotiating contracts and comparing service costs to achieve maximum value

Experience with asset management software

High attention to detail and cleanliness standards

Ability to work independently with little direction

Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

Ability to anticipate needs and develop innovative solutions for continuous improvement
