Technical Program Manager - Customer Milestones Delivery

ATOMS
San Francisco, CA
On-site

Who this role is best for

Geared toward candidates with customer-facing program management experience and a proactive approach, comfortable with maintaining live tracking systems and managing sensitive timeline conversations. Based in San Francisco, the role demands in-office presence and collaboration across multiple teams.

Best fit for

  • Candidates with experience managing customer timelines and delivering difficult messages directly
    — “Own the hard conversation when a date has to move: what changed, why, and the new commitment”
  • Individuals who have personally managed customer commitments in a hardware or field-deployed product environment
    — “Experience in a deployment, customer success, or delivery role for a hardware or field-deployed technology product”
  • Candidates who can synthesize cross-functional team updates into a unified customer-facing timeline
    — “Be the one consistent voice on customer timeline changes, so a customer hears about a slipped or moved date the same way, from the same source, every time”

Things to consider

  • In-office work is mandatory, with five days per week required in the San Francisco office
    — “all of our office-based teams work onsite, five days a week”
  • Compensation may vary based on individual experience and skills, not just the base salary range

How to stand out

  • Highlight specific instances of managing customer commitments and resolving timeline issues
    — “has personally owned a hard conversation about a slipped date with a paying customer”

    — “Rigor to build and maintain a live tracking system across several concurrent sites without letting it go stale”
  • Showcase proactive risk identification and communication in your past roles
    — “Proactive by default: flags risk before being asked, rather than only status-reporting after the fact”
  • Emphasize your ability to coordinate across Sales, Deployment, and Customer Success teams
    — “Coordinate with Sales, Deployment, and Customer Success so the message a customer hears matches what internal teams actually believe will happen”

About the role

Original posting from ATOMS via Greenhouse

Who we are

Pronto AI is a global leader in commercializing autonomous vehicle (AV) technology, deploying Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS) that automate operations in mines, quarries, and construction sites worldwide. While much of the industry remains in R&D, we deliver real, production-ready autonomy that is already operating in the field.

We are on a mission to make mining operations safer, smarter, and more efficient through cutting-edge technology, and we are building toward becoming the world’s first profitable AV technology company.

About the role

The Customer Milestones Delivery TPM owns a single tracked calendar of every customer-facing commitment across Pronto's active deployments, and is the one consistent voice when a date is at risk or has to move. Today, customer dates live across scattered trackers and get communicated by whichever team happens to be closest to the customer at the time. This role replaces that with one owner, one calendar, and one voice.

What you’ll do

Milestone Tracking

Build and maintain a single tracked calendar of every customer-facing date across all active sites — kickoff, go-live, ramp milestones, contractual deadlines — replacing the scattered trackers in use today.

Keep the calendar current by pulling status directly from the teams executing against each date, not by waiting for it to be reported.

Early-Warning & Risk Flagging

Flag a date at risk before it slips, based on leading indicators from execution teams, not after the customer has already noticed.

Build the judgment to tell a normal schedule variance from a real risk, so early warnings carry weight instead of becoming noise.

Customer Communication

Be the one consistent voice on customer timeline changes, so a customer hears about a slipped or moved date the same way, from the same source, every time.

Own the hard conversation when a date has to move: what changed, why, and the new commitment — rather than leaving it to whichever team is in the room.

Coordinate with Sales, Deployment, and Customer Success so the message a customer hears matches what internal teams actually believe will happen.

What we’re looking for

External or customer-facing program management experience — has personally owned a hard conversation about a slipped date with a paying customer.

Rigor to build and maintain a live tracking system across several concurrent sites without letting it go stale.

Proactive by default: flags risk before being asked, rather than only status-reporting after the fact.

Strong written and verbal communication, comfortable being the consistent point of contact on sensitive timeline conversations.

Nice to have

Experience in a deployment, customer success, or delivery role for a hardware or field-deployed technology product.

Experience with autonomous vehicle, robotics, or heavy industrial equipment customer programs.

Familiarity with Linear or a similar tool for pulling execution status directly from delivery teams.
