ABOUT ALTA ARES

Alta Ares is an air defense Neoprime. We build AI-guided interceptors to counter drones and cruise missiles, along with the software platform that powers them.

Our customers are NATO-aligned militaries and defense institutions, and our systems are regularly deployed during live exercises and operational demonstrations across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

Founded in 2024, we have grown to 90 people, raised over $60M, and increased revenue 40× this year. We are now entering a new phase of international expansion, industrial scaling, fundraising, and product development.

ROLE & MISSION

This VIE is Alta Ares' commercial entry point in Germany — the largest defence market in Europe and one undergoing the most significant defence industrial expansion since reunification. Based in Munich, at the heart of Germany's defence industrial ecosystem (Rheinmetall, Hensoldt, KNDS, ESG, MTU), you will support and drive Alta Ares' early-stage commercial development with German primes and institutional contacts.

You will map the ecosystem, build first-contact relationships, and support the Account Manager Germany in converting opportunities into pipeline. Germany's Zeitenwende is real, budgets are moving fast, and the demand for AI and C-UAS capabilities is accelerating. You will be on the ground at the right moment.

  • Market Mapping & Opportunity Identification
  • Map Germany's defence industrial landscape: primes, systems integrators, procurement bodies (BAAINBw, Cyber Innovation Hub der Bundeswehr), and innovation initiatives (dtec.bw http://dtec.bw, IDEaS-equivalent)
  • Identify partnership and integration opportunities aligned with Alta Ares' product suite: ISR, C-UAS, AI autonomy
  • Track German defence policy, Bundeswehr procurement priorities, and Zeitenwende investment programmes
  • Produce regular market intelligence reports for the Account Manager Germany and Paris leadership team
  • Relationship Building & Business Development
  • Initiate and develop first-contact relationships with BD, engineering, and procurement teams at target accounts: Rheinmetall, Hensoldt, KNDS, Diehl, ESG, BWI, and equivalent
  • Support the preparation of partner-facing materials, capability presentations, and meeting briefings
  • Qualify opportunities and escalate concrete prospects to the Account Manager Germany
  • Represent Alta Ares at key German defence events: DSEI, ILA Berlin, Eurosatory, and industry forums in Munich and Berlin
  • Germany–Paris Coordination
  • Serve as the operational bridge between Munich and Alta Ares HQ in Paris
  • Coordinate logistics for partner visits, demos, and leadership trips to Germany
  • Ensure smooth communication across time zones and cultural contexts — translating not just language but business culture

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • 0–3 years of experience — open to recent graduates and early-career profiles
  • Background in business development, international relations, political science, engineering, or a related field
  • Prior exposure to Germany (studies, internship, or work experience) is a strong plus
  • German fluency — mandatory: your accounts are German industrial companies and relationships are built in German
  • English fluency — mandatory
  • French is a meaningful plus — daily interaction with Paris HQ
  • Genuine interest in defence technology, European security, and Germany's defence industrial ecosystem
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable building relationships from scratch in a new market
  • Culturally agile: equally at ease in a formal German industrial setting and a fast-moving French startup

VIE Eligibility: French or EU nationality — mandatory. Aged 18 to 28 at mission start. No prior VIE with the same company.
